Customer UPdates – Storm Austen

Published On:
23 October 2026

With Storm Austen expected to bring challenging weather conditions over the coming days, we wanted to provide an update on the potential impact to our services.

Adverse weather conditions may result in disruption to ferry schedules, port operations and road transport across Ireland, the UK and Europe.

Our operations teams are closely monitoring developments and remain in regular contact with our shipping lines and transport partners. Where necessary, we will look at alternative arrangements to minimise disruption and keep goods moving.

As always, our priority is to maintain service levels while ensuring the safety of everyone involved. Should your shipments be impacted, our Customer Service team will keep you updated.

European Services

We would also like to take this opportunity to remind customers that NIC now operates a daily departure service to and from Europe.

If you have shipments that have been delayed over the weekend, or require an alternative shipping solution, please contact your account manager, who will be happy to review the options available to you.

We will continue to monitor the situation and provide further updates should there be any significant developments.

Thank you for your continued support.

Kind regards,

George Fitzgerald

Roadfreight Commercial Director
