About The Role
Network International Cargo is a leading Irish-owned logistics provider specialising in road freight, customs clearance and international freight forwarding. Due to continued business growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced Customs Clearance Agent to join our Dublin Customs team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with customs brokerage experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced logistics environment and wants to be part of a supportive, growing business.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit Irish and UK customs declarations accurately and within required timeframes.
- Ensure all customs documentation complies with Revenue, HMRC and other regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with customers, transport providers, warehouses and internal operational teams to ensure the smooth movement of shipments.
- Calculate customs duties, VAT and tariffs using the appropriate commodity codes and customs procedures.
- Resolve customs queries and clearance issues quickly to minimise delays.
- Maintain accurate customs records and ensure compliance with company procedures and AEO standards.
- Keep up to date with changes in customs legislation, trade regulations and customs systems.
- Work closely with colleagues across Customer Service, Operations and Transport to deliver excellent customer service.
- Contribute to departmental KPI’s and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience & Skills
Skills required
Previous experience in Irish and/or UK customs clearance would be an advantage but is not essential.
- Strong numerical ability with confidence working with figures, VAT and duty calculations.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office. Experience with Azyra or similar customs/logistics software would be an advantage.
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing as part of a team.
- Training & Development
Full training will be provided to the successful candidate. We welcome applications from individuals who have strong numerical skills, excellent attention to detail and a genuine willingness to learn. Experience in customs or logistics is beneficial, but we are equally interested in candidates with the right attitude, aptitude and commitment to developing a career in the customs and international trade sector.
HOURS OF WORK
Initially working 9am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday.
