This October, one of our team here at NIC, John Culligan, Sales Director, will embark on a journey to Bungoma, Kenya along with a group of 30 compassionate volunteers involved within the Bungoma Outreach Project. Their mission will be to help vulnerable teenage mothers and orphaned children and to meet the urgent needs voiced by their own community.

In Bungoma, many young mothers face immense challenges raising their babies in overcrowded, unsafe spaces – all while striving to continue their education. Children attend school in crumbling buildings, where broken floors and collapsing walls threaten their safety. At night, orphaned children sleep crowded together, or, heartbreakingly, on the cold, bare floor. Most schools lack access to clean drinking water, a basic human necessity that so many of us take for granted. We believe they deserve better.

Through John’s commitment to this charity mission Network International Cargo will support the Bungoma Outreach Project who are committed to:

  • Building a secure, nurturing home for teenage mothers—restoring their dignity, privacy, and peace.
  • Renovating schools and orphanages so every child can learn and rest in safe, dignified environments with strong walls, fresh floors, proper furniture, and warm beds.
  • Installing water tanks and harvesting systems in six schools to ensure every child has access to clean water and proper sanitation.
  • Creating cribs and play areas so young mothers can develop new skills and brighter futures, while their children are safely cared for.
  • Supporting local farming initiatives that will empower families and strengthen community resilience.

We invite you to be part of this programme whether through fundraising support, sponsoring a project or participating in a fundraiser, we can help rewrite the future for countless lives.
