The Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport presented two top awards to Network International at The Irish Logistics & Transport Awards 2012 held before a packed audience of the top echelon of Ireland’s Logistics & Transport professionals,with Richard Curran of RTÉ's Dragons Den and Deputy Editor of The Sunday Business Post presiding over the glittering awards ceremony.
The awards were held in the Burlington Hotel to applaud the 89 finalists across 18 categories. Network International won two categories – Freight Forwarding Team of the Year & Freight Forwarding Client/Supplier Achievement award. They were also shortlisted finalists in three other categories.
In presenting the awards the judges said "Network International shone out in the category nominations. They were really impressed with the NIC team – particularly the way they tackled a challenging contract which required a time efficient yet competitive logistics model. Their innovative transport solution helped a customer reduce costs by 28% and delivered a saving of over 240 tonnes in carbon emissions".
Our award submission clearly demonstrated that through open communication and schedule sharing of supply forecasts the cost of transport can be significantly lowered whilst saving on CO2 emissions. By working together it is very clear that smarter logistic solutions are achievable in challenging economic times.
