On Thursday May 7th we were delighted to host an Economic and Supply Chain Forum in the stunning Mount Congreve Gardens, Kilmeaden, Co Waterford. It was our first time to host such an event in the Southeast region of Ireland and the interaction with Irish Exporters was powerful.
Evolving trade policies and escalating geopolitical tensions are impacting global supply chains at an unprecedented pace. The forum was specifically designed for export led organisations to gain a valuable insight to trade, to exchange perspectives and engage with other companies exporting to global markets.
A big thank you to all our Guest Speakers on the day, Jim Power shared interesting data on both Global and Irish Economy as we head towards H2’26. With ongoing developments in the Middle East both food and energy are critical to the Irish economy with a greater need to focus on Renewable Energy. Aidan Magner outlined that when external market conditions are uncertain, the priority for leadership teams is to control the controllable – and the supply chain is ultimately the operational foundation of business. Simon McKeever, CEO Irish Exporter Association, provided a comprehensive overview to Ireland’s export landscape, global trade, the impact of tariffs and the need for Irish Exporters to diversify into expanding horizons connected to new trade agreements between EU, Mercosur, India and Australia.
Overall, the most striking takeaway was the strong resilience of Irish Business despite the challenges that are affecting global trade.
Thank you to all guests who attended our Economic and Supply Chain forum. It was a proud day for the team at Network International Cargo to demonstrate that great business partnerships move beyond shipping consignments from A to B internationally.
