This special year kicked off with a new brand and website. A major highlight to mark our 30th anniversary was our special event, and we were delighted to have Minister for Enterprise, Trade & Employment Mr. Simon Coveney TD officially open our ‘’Economic and Supply Chain Forum’’ in Croke Park, Dublin on 30th March 2023.
The purpose of this unique event was to celebrate our special anniversary and to provide valuable insights into the economy and how to build resilient supply chains in these turbulent and challenging times for our customers. It was an opportunity to thank our customers in a special way for being part of our journey and supporting us over the last 30 years.
Over 123 executives from 50+ companies involved in Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Global Distribution across Ireland and UK attended the event. It was a great networking opportunity for customers and indeed for our team to meet so many customers and colleagues that we haven’t seen for a while due to the pandemic. The feedback was terrific and many comments on social media indicate it was a success.
A big highlight of the day was the address by Minister Coveney. He wanted to share the government’s support for the sector and the importance of Ireland in the world economy and the role of supply chain in Ireland’s success.
We would like to give a big thank you to our guest speakers, Jim Power – Economist and Media Commentator who spoke on the “Global & Irish Economic Environment”, Aidan Magner founding partner of 3SIXTY on ‘’Building Resilient Supply Chains’’ and Colm Halpin of BCH Customs and Data Analytics Advisory Services on ‘’Strategies to Cut Import Duty Costs and Avoid Supply Chain Friction at Customs Borders’’.
Their insights and expertise will help all those who attended the event. Their presentations were factual and thought provoking and were very well received by the audience.
Everybody who attended came away with more knowledge, fresh ideas, and solutions to support their supply chains throughout 2023 and beyond. After all, Logistics and Supply Chains are a great barometer to economic trade locally and globally.
In addition, the newest NIC truck was on display with the new branding and more of these environmentally friendly trucks are on the way.
NIC are very appreciative of the Croke Park team who were instrumental in the success of the event, AVCOM who did a great job on sound and lighting, and all those who contributed to this special day including our own staff who were very helpful.
Here is some feedback following the event:
